Question WTF, now really confused with Absorb

Okay, for the longest time, I thought damage is ONLY reduced when they hit your specific Absorb armors (ie Ascalon, Knights).

What I mean is, if you have an Ascalon Chest armor (-2) with superior run (-3), and you get hit in the leg with glad (-0), you'd take the full blow...

Because you guys are saying it's GLOBAL, does that mean as long as you WEAR 1 Ascalon/Knights armor + 1 Superior absorb, you ALWAYS take 5 less damage per attack?

...and is this chart still correct?
Arm/Head/Feat 12.5% Damage Chance
Legging 25.0% Damage Chance
Torso (body) 37.5% Damage Chance

Also...I'm very poor, and only have 71AL Collectors Chainmail right now.
I'm trying to make SOLO MELEE tank (outside Augury Rock), should I:
1) Buy Gladiators (100AL) and add a Minor Absorb for now?
2) Buy Ascalon/Knights (80+10) (-2) and add a Minior Absorb for now?
***Please note, ENERGY is NOT a problem for me***

Could you guys please clear these things up for me?
Thanks

Knight's armor does not stack. One piece of Knight's armor provides the full effect of a complete set of Knight's armor. Which is why the standard warrior set up is helm with +1 attribute to whatever is needed, knight's boots, rest gladiator's. On a hammer warrior, add stoneskin gauntlets. I would put the vigor on the knight's boots. And you will certainly find use for the +energy from gladiator's armor.

okay okay.......so let me get this straight...

1) I already knew Ascalon/Knights armors do not STACK on -dmg.

2) Am I correct when I say: "I only need 1 Ascalon/Knights armor piece to get my (-2 dmg) for every hit I recieve, no matter where on the body?"

3) I still have this question not answered, "Is an absorbtion rune GLOBAL like the Ascalon/Knight armor (meaning I only need 1), or does it only reduce damage if I recieve a blow on THAT specific armor piece with the rune?"

...Well, guess it's safe to say I only need ONE Ascalon/Knights, and the rest Gladiators, but I'm still confused about how the RUNE is calculated when you take a blow to a specific armor piece...

Thanks!

guy, cmon its not that confusing
follow me into the realm of logic shall we?
say you have ascalon boot (-2) and a glads chest piece with sup abs (-3) and a shield say... malinon or collector (-2) thats -7 damage reduction GLOBALLY, you get hit in the big toe -7 DAMAGE, hit in the crotch -7 DAMAGE, hit in your gut -7 DAMAGE, get hit in the head CRITICAL hit, but thats a thread for another person who hasnt read ensign's brilliant thread on warrior armor know-how
isnt ensign's thread stickied somewhere on this site? if not, mods get on that

I know of The Game Mechanics guide that he wrote on the main site, is this what you are referring to?

I believe the knights absorb is global and any damage and Sup absorb is only for physical (or the other way around). Either way they are both global, put them both in your boots and get gladiator.

Yes, absorption is all global, whether it's from armor or shield. You only need to wear 1 absorption rune, and 1 piece of absorption armor to get the most out of them.
